About
Melanie Williford is the creative heart behind Snowdrop Floral Design.
Born and raised in Colorado, Melanie relocated to Richmond, VA in 2019 and quickly fell in love with the region’s lush, layered flora. That love became the foundation of her work: seasonal, local botanicals arranged with the reverence of a forager and the eye of a collector.
Snowdrop grew from a simple idea - fresh stems in every room, sourced from what’s growing nearby and placed in an interesting vessel found at an estate sale. Melanie forages much of her own material, partners with responsible local growers, and hunts for unique vessels at antique shops and thrift stores. Each arrangement is designed specifically for its space, taking scale, light, and the client’s personality into account.
The result is floral design that feels inevitable and intimate: unrepeatable compositions that reflect the particular place they inhabit.
